Emergency Response
Liberty Hill ISD is committed to maintaining safe and secure learning environments for our students and staff. The district uses the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) developed by the I Love U Guys Foundation to provide clear, consistent language during emergencies and other situations that may affect normal school operations.
SRP is based on five actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. The action used depends on the circumstances of the incident.
What Families Should Do
During an emergency, Liberty Hill ISD will provide families with information and instructions as quickly as circumstances allow. Families can help by:
-
Keeping contact information current in Skyward.
-
Monitoring ParentSquare and other official district communication channels.
-
Following instructions provided by the district and emergency responders.
-
Avoiding calls to the campus during an active emergency when possible.
-
Not coming to the campus unless directed to do so.
-
Waiting for official instructions regarding dismissal, evacuation, or reunification.
Information may be limited during the early stages of an emergency while district officials and first responders assess the situation. Additional information will be shared as it is confirmed and appropriate to release.
Reunification
Some emergencies may require students to be reunited with their parents or guardians at a location other than their campus.
If reunification is necessary, Liberty Hill ISD will provide affected families with the location, timing, and instructions through official district communication channels. Families should not report to a reunification location until directed to do so.
Parents and guardians should be prepared to follow the provided instructions and present identification when picking up a student.
