Become a Paraprofessional

Paraprofessionals play an important role in supporting students, teachers, and classrooms across Liberty Hill ISD. Paraprofessional opportunities include positions in Special Education, Pre-K, and other instructional support areas.

To serve as an instructional paraprofessional, employees must meet applicable certification and qualification requirements.

Educational Aide Certification

Paraprofessionals in qualifying positions must obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate .

Do not apply for the certificate before employment. Eligible employees will receive instructions from Liberty Hill ISD when it is time to complete the certification process.

Qualification Requirements

Instructional paraprofessionals must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester hours or equivalent);
  • Hold an associate degree or higher; or
  • Meet the required standard through an approved state or local assessment, which Liberty Hill ISD will provide upon employment when applicable.

Employees who do not already meet the college credit or degree requirement may still be eligible for a paraprofessional position by completing the applicable assessment.
