Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about accounts, fingerprinting, assignments, cancellations, TRS requirements, and Special Education roles.
I can't access my LHISD email. What should I do?
New substitutes will receive an email from Identity Automation with instructions for accessing their LHISD email account and the LHISD Portal.
If you cannot locate the email or need assistance accessing your account, please contact the Human Resources Department .
I need to be fingerprinted. How do I get started, and does LHISD cover the cost?
New substitutes who need fingerprinting will receive an email from IdentoGO with instructions for scheduling an appointment.
If you cannot locate the email, contact the TEA Fingerprinting Help Desk for assistance or to request that the information be resent.
LHISD does not cover the cost of fingerprinting.
I see a full-day job available, but I can only work a half day. Can I still accept it?
Possibly. If you are interested in a full-day assignment but are only available for part of the day, contact the campus directly to determine whether the assignment can be accommodated.
Campus staff can let you know whether partial-day coverage will work for that particular assignment.
I accepted a job but need to cancel. What should I do?
Log in to your Frontline account and cancel the job as soon as possible.
If the assignment is approaching and Frontline no longer allows you to cancel, contact the campus directly so staff are aware and can begin looking for replacement coverage.
I'm a retired teacher enrolled in TRS. What should I know about returning to work?
Employment after retirement may affect your Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) benefits or may be subject to specific employment limitations.
Because requirements vary by individual circumstances, retired employees should review their eligibility directly with TRS before accepting substitute assignments.
What do the different Special Education substitute assignments mean?
Special Education assignments may involve different classroom settings and levels of student support. Common assignments include:
ESLE: Early Structured Learning Environment
Serves students ages 3–5 and supports areas such as communication and language, cognitive and pre-academic development, fine and gross motor skills, self-help skills, and social-emotional development.
Resource
Provides Special Education services outside the general education classroom with support from a member of the Special Education department.
Inclusion Support
Provides Special Education support within the general education classroom. Support is individualized based on student needs, with an emphasis on building independence and reducing reliance on adult assistance over time.
RISE: Reaching Independence through a Structured Environment
Focuses on academic and developmentally appropriate functional skills through intensive, hands-on instruction and research-based strategies. Instruction is provided with a low staff-to-student ratio and includes opportunities for students to generalize skills across different settings and environments.
BEST: Building Essential Skills Together
Provides targeted social and behavioral instruction with opportunities for students to practice and generalize skills in different environments. Individualized accommodations and structured supports are provided throughout the school day.
Why is the substitute nurse rate the same for EMTs, LVNs, and RNs?
The substitute nurse position has a consistent set of responsibilities and expectations across Liberty Hill ISD campuses.
Because substitutes serving in this role perform the same assigned duties, the District uses a standardized substitute nurse rate regardless of whether the substitute holds an EMT, LVN, or RN credential.
Still need assistance?
Contact the Liberty Hill ISD Human Resources Department for additional substitute support.
