Volunteer

Liberty Hill ISD is strengthened by families and community members who give their time, experience, and support to our students and schools. Whether you want to volunteer on a campus, mentor students, support a school organization, or serve on a district committee, there are many ways to get involved.

Visitor or Volunteer?

Visiting a campus and volunteering are different. The information below can help you determine whether volunteer approval is required.

Campus Visitor

  • Visits for a meeting, lunch, classroom party, performance, conference, or similar event.
  • Checks in at the front office and receives a visitor badge.
  • Does not provide an ongoing or assigned service to students, staff, or campus programs.
  • Does not complete the volunteer approval process.

Approved Volunteer

  • Provides a service or supports students, staff, or programs beyond a typical campus visit.
  • Completes required student safety training and applicable background check requirements.
  • Receives district approval before beginning volunteer service.
Examples may include: PTO volunteers assisting in the front office, mentors, guest speakers, working with designated students in the classroom, tutoring or enrichment support, assisting with supervision, campus beautification, or preparing materials.
Remember: All adults must check in at the campus front office. Only approved volunteers may provide volunteer services or support on campus.

Become an Approved LHISD Volunteer

The safety of our students is a priority. Before volunteering with LHISD students, volunteers must complete the required student safety training and applicable background check requirements.

Complete the safety training and assessment

Review the Volunteer Student Safety Training and complete the required assessment.

Submit the required background check authorization

During the training and assessment process, you will be provided with the required background check authorization form. Complete the Texas DPS Computerized Criminal History (CCH) Verification Form and submit the required documentation to the LHISD Human Resources Department as instructed.

Wait for district approval

After all required steps are complete, including the background check, you will receive notification through Raptor regarding your approval status. Incomplete applications cannot be approved.

Do not begin volunteering until you have completed all required steps and received district approval.

Volunteer applications must be submitted each school year.

Other Ways to Get Involved

Families and community members can also support Liberty Hill ISD through district committees, campus organizations, booster clubs, mentoring programs, and other opportunities.

District Advisory Committees
PTO / PPO Organizations

Several LHISD campuses have a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) or Panther Parent Organization (PPO) where parents and community members can support students, staff, programs, and campus activities.

Watch D.O.G.S.

Watch D.O.G.S. is a school-based family and community engagement organization that provides opportunities for fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles, and other father figures to volunteer in schools. Volunteers serve in campus activities as assigned by the school principal or another administrator.
